A man died Monday weeks after suffering severe burns on most of his body from a fire at an Atlanta gas station, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The man was pumping gas April 26 when he caught fire at a Texaco in the 200 block of Clifton Street, Atlanta fire officials said. His identity has not been released.

Witnesses helped the man remove his clothes, Stafford said at the time of the fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and treated the victim’s burns.

Officials have not released what caused the fire.
