A pedestrian died after being hit by a car Friday evening in the Norcross area, Gwinnett County police said.

About 7:45 p.m., officers responded to Peachtree Corners Circle at Hunters Ridge, Sgt. R.E. Long said. The car had left the scene.

“The pedestrian was killed by the impact with the vehicle,” Long said.

The victim’s identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators are looking for a dark-colored car with fresh damage to the front left bumper and headlight area, as well as damage to the hood and the body on the driver’s side.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police via 911 or at 770-513-5100.
