The GBI is looking into an officer-involved shooting that left a man with serious injuries Monday in northwest Georgia.
Thomas Zane Campbell, 31, was shot in Trion, about 90 miles north of Atlanta in Chattooga County, as U.S. marshals and sheriff deputies tried to arrest him, GBI spokesman Greg Ramey said.
Authorities have not released the name of the official who made the shot.
Campbell, a convicted felon, was flown to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. Authorities did not say why he was being arrested.
No other details were released.
