A former Henry County Schools music teacher was arrested Sunday on multiple child sex charges, according to jail records.

Ryan Teraye Harvey, 24, is in the county jail on eight charges, including aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, sexual battery against a child under 16 and solicitation of sodomy from someone under 18 years old.

Harvey was arrested following an investigation into a tip Henry County Schools received, district spokesman J.D. Hardin told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Harvey was an orchestra teacher at Woodland High School, according to his Facebook page.

“We can’t give many details due to this being a criminal investigation,” Hardin said. “What we can say is that the former teacher was placed on administrative leave and removed from the classroom upon our school receiving a tip from a community member. This was a serious allegation and one never tolerated by our school system.”

According to an arrest report obtained by Channel 2 Action News, a 15-year-old boy accused Harvey of groping him and asking him to “send nudes” via Snapchat.

The findings were turned over to authorities.

Hardin said Harvey resigned during the investigation.

He was also charged with furnishing obscene material to a minor between 14 and 18; using a computer to seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child to commit an illegal act; and two counts of sexual assault by a probation/parole employee against a probationer/parolee under supervision of the same probation/parole office, according to jail records.
