Police believe that two women and a man facing murder charges in the shooting death of a University of West Georgia student were also involved in a robbery minutes after the student’s death, Channel 2 Action News reported Monday.

Seniya Asford-Conner, Shadeed Dunson and Arpege Jackson, all 18, were arrested and accused of trying to rob 23-year-old Tyler Ford and shooting him.

Ford heard a knock at the front door, went to open it and was shot Wednesday afternoon in his River Pointe Apartments unit on Lovvorn Road in Carrollton, officials said. Investigators said they found cash and marijuana on the floor next to Ford's body, Channel 2 reported.

They learned of another robbery minutes after the one that resulted in Ford’s death.

Details about the robbery and warrants for the arrests of the accused group were not immediately available.

Asford-Conner and Jackson were both students at the University of West Georgia. Asford-Conner stayed on campus in the school’s Tyus Hall, while Jackson lived in University Suites, Channel 2 reported.

Dunson is from Fulton County.

The university issued a statement about the incident.

“Our hearts go out to Tyler’s family, friends and fellow students at this extremely difficult time,” spokesman Gary Leftwich said. “Although the incident happened off of our campus, our university police continue to work closely with Carrollton investigators to piece together the facts of what happened and find the person responsible.”
