Barrow County authorities have charged a man with 15 felonies in connection with child molestation, an official said.

Eric Bernard Blackwell was arrested in DeKalb County on Thursday, Capt. Ryan Sears of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies received a tip that Blackwell was staying in a hotel in DeKalb, and they requested help from the U.S. Marshals Service, Sears said. Marshals arrested Blackwell without an incident.

Charges against Blackwell include cruelty to children, enticing a child for indecent purposes and aggravated child molestation, Sears said.

Blackwell is in the Barrow County jail awaiting his first court appearance.
