A woman’s body was found in the trunk of a car Friday morning on Campbellton-Fairburn Road in south Fulton County, police said.

The call came in about 11:20 a.m. as a suspicious vehicle, Fulton police Cpl. Partrena Smith said.

The condition of the body was not immediately known. Authorities are not releasing the make or model of the car at this time, Smith said.

The victim was identified as Toni Abad, 58, of Fairburn, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police said the area where the body was found — situated near a shopping center and a few apartment complexes — doesn’t typically have violent crime.

“It’s been known to have some crime like burglaries or an occasional suspicious vehicle call,” Smith said, “but nothing I would say of a grand magnitude.”

Employees at a nearby Publix said the victim was a coworker, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Last month, police responded to a body found inside a home on Live Oak Trail in south Fulton County.

No other details were released about Friday’s case.
