A body found Tuesday night at a DeKalb County intersection is being treated as a homicide victim, police said Wednesday.

The body has been identified as Gabriel Swain, 18, police Maj. Stephen Fore said Thursday. He died from a gunshot.

About 7:20 p.m., DeKalb officers responded to the 4200 block of Flat Rock Road, Fore said. The man’s body, which was near the intersection with Browns Mill Road, appeared to have been there for several days.

Medical examiner’s officials removed the body and will determine the cause of death, Fore said.
