MARTA police officers found the body of what appears to be an adult man in the trunk of a car Tuesday morning, a spokeswoman said.

About 10 a.m., a call came in to police about a car in the north parking lot of the H.E. Holmes MARTA station, which is a free parking lot, MARTA spokeswoman Alisa Jackson said.

“Once they did an initial investigation and were able to open the trunk, that’s where they discovered a male decedent,” Jackson said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to retrieve the body.

The death is being investigated as a homicide. Because this happened on MARTA property, the agency will handle the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call MARTA police at 404-848-4911 or call 911.
