Authorities said a woman whose body was found by her 9-year-old grandson in their Atlanta apartment died by strangulation.

Julia McTure, 47, was a homicide victim, Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office investigator Mark Guilbeau said Tuesday.

Police responded about 5:40 a.m. Saturday to the apartment in the 1000 block of Hollywood Road, authorities said. The woman’s body was in the living room. Police said her grandson discovered the body.
