Lawrenceville police are investigating the shooting death of a 60-year-old woman in her home, officials said.

Cheryl Loving was found by her brother at her home in the 200 block of Stone Mountain Street around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Lawrenceville police Capt. Jeff Smith told AJC.com. She was the only person who lived at the home.

Loving’s brother spoke to Channel 2 Action News, and he said he found blood on the driveway leading up to the front porch. He said the home’s door was unlocked, but Smith said there was no sign of forced entry into the house.

The brother found her lifeless body in a hallway near the kitchen, the news station reported. The death is being investigated as suspicious, Smith said.

Homicide detectives were at the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.

Police are calling her death suspicious and a??homicide investigation has been launched.
