Thanksgiving in Atlanta began with a fatal shooting at a DeKalb County Chevron station.

DeKalb County Police said a 32-year-old man was shot and killed inside the gas station at 2691 Bouldercrest Rd. at about 1 a.m. Thursday after an argument with his assailant that began outside.

Family members identified the victim as Andricus Harris.

Harris stopped to put air in his tires when he was approached by another man who drove up separately.

The men argued and the victim retreated inside the station. The assailant followed him inside and drew a handgun, according to a witness.

As Harris attempted to draw his own gun, the assailant fired two shots into his chest, police said.

The victim’s brother, who heard the shots from his car, entered the station, found his brother on the floor and administered CPR, police said.

Harris died at the scene.

The assailant fled in a black vehicle, possibly a Toyota model, police said.
