A 76-year-old man died Friday morning after a single-car wreck in Marietta, police said.

The wreck occurred shortly after 9 a.m. when Larry Carter, of Smyrna, lost control of his 2002 Honda Accord on North Woodland Drive and crashed into a tree, Marietta police spokesman Officer Jared Rakestraw said.

He was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators believe Carter may have suffered a medical emergency before crashing his car.
Anyone with information about the wreck is asked to contact police at 770-794-5384.
