Officials in Cedartown said they found a body in a creek Wednesday.

Units from Cedartown police and the GBI worked to recover the body from Cedar Creek, the city said in a statement.

Officials said pedestrians were crossing the West Avenue bridge when they saw the body in the water. A boat was called to the scene to recover it.

The person’s identity has not been released.

Cedartown, in Polk County, is about 60 miles northwest of Atlanta.
