The forecast called for a high of 72 degrees in Atlanta on Friday. However, the metro area surpassed that, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The high temperature in Atlanta was 75 degrees.

But that’s not a record, Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said. The record, set in 1932, is 76 degrees.

The average high for this time of year is 52 degrees, according to Channel 2.

Temps had dropped to 70 degrees in Atlanta, 58 in Blairsville and 60 in Griffin by 7 p.m. The lows Friday night were expected to be in the upper 50s.
