Volunteers will provide shuttle service from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 576 Roscoe Rd.,  to St. Smyrna beginning at 2 p.m.

The message is “love is bigger than hate,” said the Rev. Hazel Glover, the priest at St. Paul’s, and one of the speakers.

A picnic will be held following the service, with activities for children.  Glover said faith and community leaders got together to show their opposition to the rally.

“We’re trying to develop an alliance that will continue long after Saturday. We want to hang on to our common values, rather than our differences.”

Newnan Mayor Pro Tem Cynthia E. Jenkins said residents want to create their own narratives and do something constructive.

“We’re not them and we’re not going back to where they want us to go” she said of the Neo-Nazis.
