Like most folks, you’re probably throwing away your eggshells, but did you know consuming them is actually quite beneficial?

According to Business Insider, they're a great source of calcium. In fact, a single eggshell contains about two grams of calcium. That's two to four times the daily recommended value.

But there are proper ways to consume the shells safely, so don’t eat them raw. You’ll want to boil the eggshells first to kill potential bacteria.
