Influential evangelist Billy Graham has died at 99, according to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

He died in North Carolina.

Although he was known as “America’s Pastor,” Graham had a huge global following through his radio and television ministry.

Graham had a strong connection in Georgia, where he held a number of major crusades and had a sometimes strained relationship with the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
