Migos rapper Offset arrested in Jonesboro on gun, drug charges

Migos member Offset was arrested after a traffic stop in Jonesboro at approximately 3 p.m. Friday.

The rapper was pulled over in a 2014 Porche 911 Carerra after performing what Clayton County Police deemed an improper lane change at Upper Riverdale Road and Tara Boulevard.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers detected an odor of marijuana and during a search of the car located three handguns, less than an ounce of marijuana and more than $107,000 in cash.

Offset, legally known as Kiari Kendrell Cephus, 26,was traveling with his bodyguard, Senay Gezahgn.

Both men were arrested.

Offset has been charged with an improper lane change, possession of marijuana (less than an ounce), possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. He’s out on bond, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Although it has been previously reported that Offset is serving five years of probation stemming from a 2015 arrest on drugs and weapons charges, his attorney Drew Findling told the AJC that the rapper received an early termination of his probation.

The rapper is on the current cover of Rolling Stone with Cardi B, whom he married in a secret ceremony last fall. Cardi B gave birth earlier this month to the couple's first daughter, Kulture Kiari.
